  • Robert OlsonI have a severely herniated disc in my lower back.

I am a PGA Golf Professional. I make my living teaching, facilitating and sometimes playing the game of golf. For a number of years I have suffered with two, sometimes debilitating, physical conditions, which are not uncommon, lower back pain and joint pain. Getting up and out in the morning was a real chore. Not good for anyone, but it’s even worse when your livelihood depends on you being very active.

I have a severely herniated disc in my lower back. I don’t know how long I’ve had the condition but it has been a problem for a couple of decades. When I have had flair-ups, my doctor treated me with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and he would recommend physical therapy. Each had a modest positive effect on reducing the pain but neither eliminated it. My last visit to this doctor ended with a rather bleak outlook. He didn’t want to continue with the drugs and neither did I. He didn’t think the problem was severe enough the warrant surgery so the physical therapy was about it. I knew it was helping, so I continued with this, on my own. For the most part, I was able to stay ahead of the pain.

I hope this provides an incentive to at least try this approach.

  • Alice HodachI don’t like taking drugs and didn’t want spinal shots

I first came to see Dr. Rice for very stubborn Sciatica and deteriorating low back disk problem that caused numbness in my entire right leg and pain in the upper left leg. I could not walk or stand for any period of time without pain. My general practitioner (MD) recommended acupuncture.

I already saw an orthopedic surgeon who prescribed medications with possibly future surgery.

I don’t like taking drugs and didn’t want spinal shots, and wanted my body to heal itself naturally. I also had been seeing a chiropractor regularly.  Dr. Rice encouraged me to keep up with my adjustments while under his care.

Dr. Rice explained that due to the degeneration I would have to be patient and progress might be slow. I was 80% pain free and feeling healthier within six months.

If you are willing to make a commitment and not expect instant results I would highly recommend acupuncture and chiropractic treatments.

I would add that Dr. Rice and his staff were very attentive to my needs and very professional.

    Thank you.

  • Daniel GarzaI had high blood pressure and low testosterone

I first came to see Dr. Rice in February 2011, because my doctor told me I had high blood pressure and low testosterone and put me on two medications. I was only 24 years old at the time!

After reading Kevin Trudeau’s book, “Natural Cures They Don’t Want You to Know About” I decided to try an alternative approach. I was a bit skeptical at first, but when I first came to the Wholistic Health Center I was certain I would be helped.

Within a short time, I was off ALL the medications and feeling well. Now I continue to come in for a “tune up” regularly.

Dr. Rice helped my mother with her sinus problem, too.

  • Diane CarpenterDiane CarpenterI will miss the wonderful care I have been receiving here.

I came to see Dr. Rice in January 2013, with degenerative arthritis in my right hip. I had extreme pain radiating down my leg to my knee and foot. I had been unable to walk more than a few minutes for three weeks before coming into the office. I took Aleve or ibuprofen to help with the pain.

Dr. Rice performed a complete examination and recognized the degenerative condition and recommended I get x-rays of my hip when I go back north and have insurance coverage.

After several weeks of acupuncture, chiropractic care and nutritional changes the pain went from a 9/10 to a 1-2/10! I can walk twenty minutes without pain now.

Although, I am looking forward to getting back to Pittsburgh, I will miss the wonderful care I have been receiving here.

  • Mary SimmonsFinding Dr. Rice was "written in the stars"

I just started going to Dr. Rice a few weeks ago with annoying back pain that I have been putting off and just couldn't put up with it any longer. Finding Dr. Rice was "written in the stars"; as they say. After a professional evaluation, he began to work his magic.

I went in for back and neck pain and this Doctor fixed things I didn't think could be fixed. In less than a week, my sinus issues (I thought I had allergies and had been treating that way for more than 10 years!) had completely disappeared! I have had chronic issues with my right thumb as well and POOF! Gone! Not to mention lower back pain after walking for a while.

Dr. Rice seems to know exactly what is wrong, even if you don't mention it, and heals the WHOLE of you, not just what you think is wrong. I feel very blessed to have found Dr. Rice and will continue treatment with him for as long as I can to keep the WHOLE me up to snuff! Thank you, Dr. Rice! I am so grateful I found you!

  • John YimoyinesUnsolicited recommendation for Dr. Bill Rice

So this is an unsolicited recommendation for Dr Bill Rice from someone Dr Bill has helped for the past few years to you golfers. He is someone I recommend you consult with to help you with your aches and pains.

About 6 years ago I went to see Bill because my left arm ached so bad that I could not hit a golf ball. He treated me for about a month (mainly acupuncture-which I was very unsure of) but I was back on the golf course soon and my left arm has been fine since. I continued to see him for periodic adjustments over the next few years for back health. Based on his recommendation I started both Pilates and Yoga for my back which is an on and off issue.

This season my back has become a big issue. I decided to consult with Dr Bill. I just returned from my second treatment with Bill-a combination of an adjustment and some acupuncture and as I sit here my back is feeling great and if it weren’t so cold-I’d play tomorrow

So I hear guys saying all the time that they have pain here and there that is hurting their golf games. Go see Dr Bill. He can help you and he is now a lot closer to Ibis.
